Permanent Makeup for Genée was born from a dream: to help women look and feel their very best.

From a young age, Genée aspired to become a cosmetic surgeon, driven by a deep desire to help women achieve their best appearance and confidence. Unfortunately, her path shifted when she left home at fifteen, forcing her to navigate the real world before finishing her education.

Once she was settled and financially stable, Genée began searching for a meaningful career. This led her to become a cardiology technologist, with the hope that supporting people’s health would bring the fulfillment she longed for.

Shortly after graduating, she and her husband relocated from Vancouver to Edmonton for better career prospects. Soon after the move, however, Genée realized cardiology was not the answer. She found the work monotonous, with limited opportunities—Edmonton’s scope of practice was far more restricted than Vancouver’s.

Faced with a discouraging career outlook and an unfulfilling hospital environment, Genée knew she needed a change. The work felt restrictive and bleak, and with a newborn at home, she longed for more flexibility and a career that brought joy, not depression.

Then, while at home, she came across an article about microblading. In that moment, everything clicked. Genée knew this was her true calling.

Using their modest savings and with maternity leave halfway over, she dedicated herself completely to mastering microblading. She had finally found her passion.

What began as a pursuit of personal freedom quickly became an all-consuming vocation. Genée was captivated. Her life now revolved around balancing motherhood with her mission: helping women look and feel their best.

Over the past 11 years, Genée has invested her heart and soul into permanent makeup, continually mastering every new technique that emerges.

Brow Envy Edmonton started as a passion project and has since grown into Edmonton’s leading permanent makeup studio. This success stems not only from hard work, but from a commitment to quality, kindness, and always prioritizing the needs of her clients.
