How can Permanent Eyeliner Improve your Beauty Routine?
Permanent eyeliner can truly make a difference for many people.
For those with hooded eyes, allergies to traditional makeup, shaky hands, or simply busy schedules, applying eyeliner can be challenging. Permanent eyeliner offers a way to enjoy well-defined eyes without the worries of smudging, irritation, or uneven lines. It’s about feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin, with a look that stays put naturally every day.
Things to know before Booking
Does it Hurt?
Clients are numbed before and during the procedure to help keep you comfortable. Most people find it well tolerated, with discomfort rarely exceeding a 4 out of 10. However, those who have trouble numbing at the dentist or are sensitive to anesthesia might find it harder to relax during the service. We do our best to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
Lash growth serums are prohibited
Lash serums can cause issues like migration, swelling, and poor retention. We recommend stopping Latisse for 12 months and other serums for at least 3 months before your appointment—longer if you can. This helps us get the best possible results!
eyeliner is permanent
While your permanent eyeliner will fade subtly, and slowly over a long period of time, due to the nature of the eyes and the type of pigment used, it should be considered permanent. Make sure you are choosing artists which can meet your desired needs and have lots of healed photos.
What if i don’t want the eyeliner anymore or i want to change it?
If you’d like to go bigger or darker, no problem—we can easily refresh your eyeliner to achieve the look you want. If you decide you’d like it gone, laser removal is needed to fully remove the pigment.

Will I swell?
Swelling after the procedure is normal and expected. Most clients can expect some swelling for up to 3 days. Some may swell quite a bit, while others may hardly swell at all—both are completely normal.
Can I get permanent eyeliner if i have glaucoma?
Unfortunately, no. We apply significant pressure on the eye during the procedure to ensure accuracy, and stabilize the eye.
Skin conditions and the eyes:
If you struggle with styes, blepharitis, or eczema around the eyes, your condition must be stabilized and there should be at least a 60-day period with no flare-ups before proceeding.
How freqruently will i need it refreshed?
The lash line is an oily area and may fade faster than other styles. Lash line enhancements typically require a refresh every 3 years or so, while other eyeliner styles can last 5 years or more before significant fading occurs.
Women of Color and Permanent Eyeliner
Brow Envy recommends solid eyeliners over smoky liners
When tattooing eyeliner on women of color, it’s important to consider certain factors. Solid eyeliners contain more pigment and tend to stand out better against darker skin compared to softer, smoky liners.
While we are happy to perform smoky liners on women of color, many clients have been disappointed with how softly they heal, leading us to switch most of them to classic eyeliner. Additionally, women with Fitzpatrick skin type 6 may not achieve their desired intensity at all.
